Cast Iron Pizza
This cast iron pizza is perfect and so delicious.
Recipe
Dough
1 cup of warm water
2 tsp of yeast
2 tsp of sugar
Mix the above ingredients in a bowl. Then cover it and let the yeast activate. When it is bubbly, add the following ingredients:
1.5-2 cups of flour
1 tsp of salt
Mix the ingredients until it comes together to form a dough. Pour onto a floured surface on the counter and knead until it is soft and forms a ball (about 5 minutes). Put the dough into an oiled bowl and cover to let rise. When it has doubled in size, pour onto a lightly floured surface and split into two pieces. Roll each into a circle the size of a 12” cast iron pan.
Oil the cast iron and heat it on the stove for a few minutes to warm it up. Put the dough in and press it towards the sides of the cast iron pan. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Spread a light layer of spaghetti sauce onto the surface of the dough leaving the edge free of space.
Spread mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Then add cooked chicken and squeeze BBQ sauce over the top of it all.
When the oven is heated, put the pizza in the oven. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the top crust is golden brown.
Use a spatula to loosen the sides and lift the pizza out of the pan. Place it on a cutting board and cut using a large knife or pizza cutter.
