How To Order From Azure Standard
I buy most of my bulk food from Azure Standard. I try to only buy organic food storage because it is the cheapest and best way to eat organic!
I can get bulk food at my local Winco or at Costco, but I can’t get most of organic. Azure Standard has stepped up to the plate and carries all of it with organic options.
Never heard of Azure Standard? Let me give you the run down.
Azure Standard is a company that farms organically in Oregon. They have made a direct to consumer delivery service option for that food. They also source other organic items from small farmers and organic companies and deliver directly to the consumer. But their delivery system is different from any I’ve ever used.
Before you order your food, you join a ‘drop’ meaning a group of people who order together and the semi truck delivers those orders to a specific spot. You can search by your address to find one near you and select ‘Add Drop'. Now you can go in to the main menu and search for the items you want. Each drop has a delivery schedule, either once or twice a month. It’s delivered to the same spot, same time and everyone gathers to it. There is a deadline for ordering that you will need to pay attention to, but it’s easy to track because they have it listed at the top of the webpage when you are signed in. When the truck delivers, you have to be on time because everyone helps unload the truck and when it’s all off he leaves. Everyone else leaves when they have picked up their order and your food will be left in the hands of the drop coordinator. The drop coordinators are amazing and are always willing to help you get your stuff, but don’t take advantage of that because if it becomes a habit, they won’t let you order from their drop anymore.
Now, back to the truck. When the truck comes, everyone gathers around and takes things off the semi as the driver puts it on the edge of the bed. All items are labeled with the name of the customer who bought it. So it’s easy to just yell out the name and that person comes and gets it. If you get confused or unsure at your first drop, find your drop coordinator and ask them for help. Everyone is really nice and it’s a really fun community. I enjoy getting to know everyone while we wait for the truck to come and while we are all working together.
Azure is a really great community and I’m always so so happy they provide such high quality food and make a fun environment for people to connect. I love to support them and it’s always great to find like-minded people.
