Smoky Coleslaw
I love finding new ways to enjoy classic dishes, like coleslaw. And one of my favorite ways to enjoy this crunchy, nutritious side is by using it in sandwiches.
Adding coleslaw to your sandwich not only adds a burst of flavor and texture, but it also packs a nutritional punch. Cabbage, the main ingredient in coleslaw, is a rich source of vitamins C and K, as well as fiber and antioxidants. And, when paired with other fresh vegetables and a healthy protein source like chicken or turkey, it makes for a satisfying and wholesome meal.
One of my go-to sandwich combos is a grilled chicken sandwich with a generous scoop of coleslaw on top. The savory, slightly charred chicken pairs perfectly with the cool, tangy coleslaw, creating a balance of flavors and textures that's hard to beat. And, by using homemade coleslaw made with fresh, wholesome ingredients, I can feel good about what I'm putting into my body.
The beauty of coleslaw is that it's incredibly versatile, meaning you can use it in a variety of sandwich combinations. Try it in a turkey and avocado sandwich for a healthy twist on a classic lunchtime favorite, or add it to a roast beef sandwich for an extra crunch.
So if you're looking to up your sandwich game and add some extra nutrition to your meals, give coleslaw a try.
